My Lake In Late December

I haven't posted since last April! It's been a full year of art, construction and celebration My treks down to my favorite lake, Lake Michigan, have been less as well. Tonight however, I took the time hoping for just a glimpse of the sun at sunset. I'm happy to report this lake did not disappoint. Here are a few of my favorites to show you as we are close to ending 2016.

Happy New Year to you all! I hope to be a bit more consistent posting in 2017.

A Collection Of My New 2016 Abstract Paintings

I worked very hard painting this past winter and have finished these six paintings.  One of my goals was to work hard on developing a style that was identifiable to me. My hope is that when you spot a painting you may want to ask yourself if that one would be one of mine!

"Sanctuary" 36" x 36"

"Water Love" 48" x 48"

"Summer Color! 24" x 24"

"A Season of Hope" 40" x 36"

"Second Chances" 40" x 14"

"On The Other Side" 36" x 12"

I've shared this quote before but it still is so true as to why and what I love to paint.

"My paintings are a metaphor or simile drawn from nature or common life, surprising the viewer by its vividness or strangeness, and leaving the mind in sufficient doubt about its precise meaning in order to tease your mind into active thought."

I will be painting continuously throughout the year to build my collection so I'll have many always available for those interested

If you are interested in purchasing any of these art pieces, please feel free to leave comments below or email me for more information.

New Early Spring Photos

I thought I would share a few of my favorite photos of early spring here in Michigan. I'm starting with my all time favorite of where I go to catch a sunset over Lake Michigan.  I've been here near the lake for four years now and I still have to pinch myself that I'm lucky enough to live this close to this beautiful lake.

Every visit and every sunset is different each time I come.

The colors!

The reflections!

I also like to garden and finally I have those few early plants and bulbs that have begun to bloom.

Who doesn't like purple on a frosty morning?

If the timing is right after a early morning rain, it's the perfect time to catch these delicate drops of water balancing on these leaves and stems!  I get down and dirty catching the droplets at just the right time.

I love it when I catch a photo at just the right moment. If you are looking for a photo of mine or any other art piece for your home or business contact me. Also, please feel free to leave comments below or email me for more information.

Giving Back

I didn't come up with this scripture verse, I was given ideas from our Youth Director.  This year especially, I think this verse sends a very appropriate message. What a simple text to live by. It would create such unity, love, acceptance and so much more, in our world today.

Love God
Love People
All For Jesus
Matthew 28:19

I had the privilege of being asked to paint several paintings for a new addition that was built and finished last year at First Reformed Church of Grandville, MI. This new addition is primarily used by the the youth of our church and the community. The walls were blank so my job was to create and paint a few art pieces to pull it all together.

I considered it an honor that I was asked to do this. My husband and I have been members there for about 25 years now. We've raised 2 children with the help of this church. The church will always have memories of spiritual growth for us, as well as being blessed with a community of great friends. So what better way to give back than to give my time especially doing what I love.

My largest painting was this set of three.  Each panel is 48" x 60". What a great message for kids to learn to live by as they grow and mature into adulthood.

"The Way, the Truth and the Life"

There are two more I completed. Although a bit more simple I think the message is good. "Pray" and "Listen".  I've too often have heard people when asked if they pray are quick to say, "I pray."  That's great, but do they listen?  I've realized some people forget to listen.  Do you listen for the answer?

If you are looking for new painting for your church, business or home contact me.  I enjoy working with a customer creating a custom orders.  I also have several paintings ready for purchase now as well. Please feel free to leave comments below or email me for more information.

A Collection Of My Favorite Concrete Bowls.

I really do enjoy making concrete bowls. I'll go so far to say they're my favorite to make.  I think this is because there are so many uses for bowls.  You can display just a single one or several of them together, you can drop in a favorite plant or flower, put in a candle, fill one with your favorite treasures, insert a glass bowl and use as a punch bowl for parties, set out several on your patio for a bit of mood lighting, or use as a bird bath. Really the ideas are almost endless.

I thought I would post my favorites I have made over the last ten years.  I'll start with a few of my all time favorite then the bowls after that will be in random order.

If you have a favorite and want to order one there is one thing you do have to be aware of.  I do not make molds for any of these bowls, so I can try to replicate one but it won't be identical. I prefer it this way because each of my customers always receive an original! You will never have one like anyone else.

I'll be taking orders beginning April 1, 2016, so please contact me if you are interested purchasing one or more of these. I've placed a number for ordering on the right bottom side of each bowl/photo.

My Love of Painting and Selling My Art

I just sold this painting and it is now permanently installed in this waiting room!  Nothing pleases me more than knowing I can paint something that someone else will love enough to want to purchase it.

People often ask me if I have a hard time selling my art!  Not at all! I'm so honored they would want to own one of mine.  I have a different attachment to some pieces than others, but each art piece speaks to me in a special way.  I hope this will be true for anyone who purchases a painting of mine.

Here are a few more that I have available.

"Suburbia 48" x 48"

"It Feels Like Spring"  36" x 36"

"Rejuvenation" 24" x 36"

"Kaleidoscope" 48" x 48"

I believe a original painting is one thing that sets the mood of a room.  It's something you can add that no one else will have. If you are interested in purchasing any of these art pieces, please feel free to leave comments below or email me for more information.
