My Love of Painting the Abstract

I love to paint. And I love to paint in abstract conveying a message or a simple insight.  I love this quote I've used before. This time however I'm changing it up just a bit to sum up my thought process behind each painting a little more clearly.

"My paintings are a metaphor or simile drawn from nature or common life, surprising the viewer by its vividness or strangeness, and leaving the mind in sufficient doubt about its precise meaning in order to tease your mind into active thought."

Here a few of my favorites paintings that are available for purchase.

"Suburbia" 48" x 48"
A early morning view, and it's a simple one.  This happens when your green lawn meets the morning blue sky as the sprinklers are on.  Such sparkle!

"Natures Work 36" x 24"
This was painting with envisioning myself deep in the forest at sunrise with the treat of fire close by. Scary for sure, but I do believe when a fire is set by a storm it's nature's way of cleansing the earth and promoting new fresh growth. Is there a message for us there?

"Taking the Plunge" 48" x 48"
A simple explanation here. I love the water!  It's powerful. Something about the big waves of the lake that  just want me to jump in a ride the waves.  I can almost hear them when looking at this painting.

"Kaleidoscope"  48" x 48"
Have you ever looked around on a dewy sunny morning as the sun was coming up?  The reflections from all of nature's colors melt into each other.  A ever changing and beautiful design for sure.

"Intentional Prayer - Learning to Listen" 42" x 24"
This is such a simple concept that we forget to do.  Praying and listening should be a constant moving thought that we should be practicing every day.  Most of us pray but often we forget to listen. This painting is be a good reminder to do just that.
