More Hand Blown concrete bowls!





I'm so excited about these concrete art pieces. They are so much fun to pour.  They are all round in four different sizes, but the opening is unique in each one, causing each one to glow differently. 

These Hand Blown concrete art bowls along with a few more will be making their way to Wealthy at Charles this week.  I'll will be pouring more for the fall season.  They will make a wonderful display anywhere in your home.  And of course, if you have have questions or comments, please email me or comment below.

    It depends on which size you order - small (6") $35.00; medium (8") $45.00; large (10") $55.00. I wouldn't advise putting soil directly in the bowl but to insert a pot liner as the bowl does not have a drainage hole. Thanks for your interest!

      Or maybe you can use plans with very few needs of water...or use some rubber material to isolate the humidity from the concrete walls

    This is the same concept as making paper mache bowls or lampshades from string and white glue. Or even chocolate bowls. Not difficult at all once you master not breaking the baloon.

      I'm sure it takes much more skill to make these beautiful bowls than to just not break the baLLoon. If you make one of these or a chocolate bowl in Papier-mâché let me know, I'd love to see your work. You know, when you demean the work of someone who makes a living as an artist, especially for something you yourself have never done, you come across as jealous. And, when you leave typos in your post, you lose any credibility you may have had before you made your snarky comment.

      I agree. Don't list them on a DIY site only to try and peddle them out. List them on Etsy. Otherwise, i'll just use my own mixture and balloons filed with water.

    Old glass ball type light fixture with a balloon inside pour concrete between the two let dry pop the balloon and crack the pot and you have the bowls

    The cement is only available in Europe, comes from Germany... s&h will cost more than the product unfortunately

    I attempted making these last night. They were rather successful. You want to purchase quick-dry cement. And cheap party balloons. Make sure you have a covered work space and plastic gloves. Blow up the balloons about half way (not fully inflated) or just to desired size. Mix the water and cement. Use hands, trowel, disposable knife, or pop sickle stick to cover most of the balloon. If some shows through that's okay. Be sure to apply a thick coat of cement to the balloon. Let it dry overnight. When the mold has hardened you can "pop" the balloon with a needle. The mold will be VERY brittle so be careful. That's as far as I have gotten. once the mold has hardened I imagine I can simply apply more patches of wet cement to areas that are brittle to reinforce the structure. Very easy project. Her's are top-notch though. You can tell how thick the spheres are. I'll have to play around with how to reinforce the bowls. Cheap materials though. Worth a try.
